Family
Four large boxes arrived from the family of my recently deceased great-aunt. Inside the boxes we found my great-grandmother’s wedding dress from the late nineteenth century, scrapbooks, photos, and stacks and stacks of letters dating from the 1890’s.
Here are a few of the letters:

My favorite is this daguerreotype of my great-great-grandma dated 1863 sitting next to her sister. My great-great-grandma is on the right:

I love the sisters’ hands and how they interlock and sweetly hold each other.
