Garden Folly
My watercolors have been collecting some dust. Here is a fragment of what I’m working on; hopefully you’ll see the final version, soon.

In the 17th century, the Barberinis, who rose to prominence in Renaissance Rome, paid homage to bees by placing images of them everywhere: on their coat of arms, on church altars, and on buildings.
Maybe in these dire days of missing bees we could emulate the Barbarini bee-spirit by revering our bee friends with altars and images in hopes that they will not disappear entirely.

Oh, I love this. And I’m definitely going to start drawing bees on everything.

Salutations to bees…may their needs be appreciated.
