Garden Horace

Here is my pillow prototype of Horace. I’m still tweaking the colors, but basically here he is in all his glory. He is silkscreened with earth-friendly inks on organic cotton stuffed with wool. I’m hoping to have the final ones completed and ready to sell before the holidays.

I finally got a chance to see Lisa Solomon’s solo show at the LittleBird Gallery last weekend. Gorgeous show. I especially liked the brilliant doily trees, because they made me think of real fir tree boughs making those lovely doily spirals.

Camilla Engman’s calendar is elegant in its conception and execution. It is the most appealing calendar that I have ever hung on my wall and the new year has not even started, yet.

Finally, Gracia and Louise have created such lovely online store, that I wish there was some kind of non-virtual department store that looked and felt this way.

New Horace

Almost done.
Does anyone know of a great place that makes really nice fabric labels?

Naomi

This She Cow is for our friend Naomi Replansky. She is everything that is beautiful in this world and we love her very much. She now has a blog.

Garden Without Flowers

I made Garden Without Flowers in 1999 using watercolor cut-outs and backgrounds. Fausto Caceres created the amazing soundtrack.

* note- I just updated with a less pixilated version.

Absence

A robin nest.

I’m back from vacationing near the Columbia River Gorge, Washington. We had a lovely time!
I went to a few of the events at the the PLATFORM International Animation Festival held in Portland, Oregon and wish I could have seen more, especially the Installation and Event Party.
Here are a few links that I gathered from artists’ work I saw at PLATFORM or heard about.

“We share our mothers’ health” by Motomichi Nakamura

“Adicolor - Black” by Saiman Chow

“Tyger” by Guilherme Marcondes

“Forrest” by Eric Leiser

Joanna Priestley

Miwa Matreyek

She Cow Loop

Here is a start of the She Cow loop. I’ll keep adding, as more She Cows get painted.
Once you click the play button, it takes awhile to load.

Junebug

Our little one turned three this weekend, I can’t believe it! These past days have been so happy and festive.

REDCAT International Children’s Film Festival is happening now and is a real treat to attend. We went last year and had a blast and we’re definitely going this year.

Also, the amazing and very talented Stefan Gruber will be screening his 35mm film, “Anaelle,” at the “Legends, Fables and Dreams,” event of the festival. Go see it, if you get a chance. Stefan’s animations are incredibly lovely, and this one is about ladybugs.
